Responsibilities
- Offer immediate crisis intervention to individuals experiencing mental health or addiction crises, ensuring safety and stabilization.
- Manage crisis situations through effective crisis management techniques, including de-escalation and supportive counseling.
- Conduct behavioral health assessments to identify client needs, strengths, and goals, creating tailored recovery plans.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage clients’ motivation for change and reinforce positive behaviors.
- Provide ongoing mentoring and emotional support to clients throughout their recovery journey, fostering trust and empowerment.
- Document all client interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, connect clients with community resources, and ensure continuity of support.
Experience
- Prior experience in crisis intervention and crisis management within behavioral health or social work settings is highly desirable.
- Strong background in mental health counseling, addiction counseling, or social work with a focus on recovery support.
- Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques to motivate behavioral change effectively.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation and case management purposes.
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles, mental health conditions, and substance use disorders.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients empathetically while maintaining professional boundaries.
