Plugged In Band Program is a non-profit music education organization dedicated to inspiring musicians through performance, education, and community. We're looking for a creative and experienced Web Designer to help elevate our online presence by designing a modern, engaging, and user-friendly website.
We are seeking a talented Web Designer with experience in Wix Studio and User Experience (UX) design. The ideal candidate also has a strong understanding of ADA website accessibility standards and can design websites that are inclusive, accessible, and easy to navigate for all users.
This is a contract/freelance opportunity with the potential for future collaboration.
- Design and develop a professional website using Wix Studio.
- Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes in Figma or similar design tools.
- Apply UX best practices to improve navigation, accessibility, and user engagement.
- Ensure the website follows ADA accessibility best practices, including accessible navigation, color contrast, keyboard navigation, image alt text, semantic structure, and other accessibility considerations.
- Ensure responsive design across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Optimize website performance and overall user experience.
- Collaborate with our team throughout the design process and make revisions based on feedback.
- Proven experience designing websites in Wix Studio.
- Strong proficiency in wireframing and UX design principles.
- Demonstrated experience designing and building ADA-accessible websites.
- Knowledge of current web accessibility standards and best practices.
- Strong understanding of responsive web design and modern UI trends.
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage project timelines.
- Experience working with nonprofits, music organizations, educational programs, or creative organizations is a plus.
