Financial Planning Assistant

Plott & French Financial Advisors, a family-owned financial planning firm in Blacksburg, is seeking a Financial Planning Assistant to support our advisory team. This is a unique opportunity for someone detail-oriented and motivated who wants to start a career in financial services.
What You’ll Do
- Support the advisors in preparing for client meetings and maintaining client files.
- Assist with daily office operations, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, filing, scanning, and processing paperwork.
- Pick up and process daily mail; handle checks and paperwork submissions.
- Maintain compliance with our home office and product companies.
- Act as a liaison with product companies and vendors to gather information.
- Provide excellent service to clients in person, on the phone, and by email.
- Manage the our Client Relationship Management (CRM) system. Training to be provided.
- Candidate must be able to pass the SIE exam and Series 7 Licensure within 6-months of hire date. Associated Costs will be covered by the employer.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong organization skills and ability to multitask.
- High attention to detail.
- Flexibility to occasionally spend time in our other offices, as needed.
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Past Financial Services experience a plus, but not required.
- Basic comfort and familiarity with regularly used office software, such as Word, Excel, and Calendar apps.
- Must pass fingerprinting and background check prior to hire.
