What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Director position at Plot?
Director of Sales
Location: New York (on-site)
About Plot
Plot exists to bring creativity back to marketing. Social teams are overwhelmed by noise, manual work, and fragmented tools — leaving less time for the part they actually love: creating.
Plot uses AI to automate and orchestrate social video analyzing social signals, surfacing insight, and powering smarter execution so brands can move faster, work more strategically, and actually enjoy the platform they use every day. We’re building for marketers who care deeply about taste, speed, and impact.
In under a year since launch, Plot is already trusted by leading enterprise brands including lululemon, Benefit Cosmetics, Anthropologie, CAVA, Empire State Building, Visa, Fabletics, Dutch Bros, and more. As enterprise adoption accelerates, we’re entering the phase where sales execution, scale, and rigor matter as much as momentum.
Plot is venture-backed by Seven Seven Six (Alexis Ohanian), XYZ Ventures, and Mischief Ventures.
The Role
We’re hiring a Director of Sales to own and scale Plot’s enterprise revenue engine. This role is accountable for turning early traction into a repeatable, predictable, multi-million dollar sales motion. You'll lead the sales team while personally owning and closing a portion of enterprise revenue, manage revenue targets, and build the systems, processes, and culture required to consistently hit and exceed ambitious growth goals.
What You'll Do
Revenue Ownership & Strategy
- Own revenue targets and pacing across quarters and fiscal years
- Carry a personal enterprise quota in addition to managing team targets
- Build and manage accurate forecasting, pipeline coverage, and deal health
- Partner with founders on revenue planning, pricing strategy, and growth targets
- Translate company goals into clear sales execution plans
Team Leadership & Scale
- Lead, manage, and develop a growing team of Enterprise Account Executives & SDR's
- Set clear performance expectations, quotas, and success metrics
- Coach reps on enterprise deal strategy, discovery, and closing
- Hire, onboard, and ramp sales talent as the team scales
Sales Systems & Process
- Design and implement scalable sales processes across outbound, inbound, and expansion
- Establish consistent pipeline management, CRM hygiene, and reporting standards
- Build repeatable playbooks for enterprise selling (ICP, qualification, deal cycles)
- Ensure sales execution becomes more predictable as volume increases
Enterprise Selling & Deals
- Personally lead, own, and close high stakes, complex enterprise deals, while supporting reps on strategic opportunities
- Navigate multi-stakeholder buying committees and longer sales cycles
- Maintain executive relationships with senior marketing, social, and brand leaders
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to drive expansion and retention
What We're Looking For
- 8–12 years of experience in B2B Enterprise SaaS sales
- Proven track record owning and scaling multi-million dollar revenue targets
- Experience leading and scaling sales teams through periods of rapid growth
- Deep understanding of pipeline math, forecasting, and revenue predictability
- Strong enterprise sales instincts — comfortable selling strategic platforms
- Experience selling into marketing, brand, or social teams is a strong plus
- Ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels
- High standards for rigor, accountability, and performance
- Excited to build a team in-office in New York
Why This Role at Plot
This role is for a leader who wants real ownership, not a maintenance job. You’ll shape how enterprise sales scales (from team structure to targets to execution) while partnering closely with founders. This is a hands on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys building the machine while still being in the field closing deals.
Plot already has strong inbound demand and enterprise traction. The opportunity now is to turn that momentum into a durable revenue engine capable of supporting sustained growth without losing the creativity, taste, and speed that make Plot special.
f you’ve scaled enterprise revenue before and want to do it again — you might be a Plottie. ;)
