Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both residential and commercial painting, with a strong understanding of color theory and construction practices. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work effectively on various projects, including renovations and restorations. The Painter will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring a high standard of finish.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes or imperfections.
- Apply paint using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment, ensuring even coverage and adherence to specifications.
- Mix paints and match colors according to project requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine project scope and specifications.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure seamless integration of painting work with other construction activities.
- Perform maintenance tasks including caulking, plastering, and minor repairs as needed.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in various settings.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the duration of projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience in residential and commercial painting projects.
- Strong knowledge of color theory and application techniques.
- Familiarity with construction estimating and blueprint reading is preferred.
- Experience with plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, stucco work, and restoration projects is a plus.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and airless paint spraying equipment safely.
- Basic math skills for measuring areas and calculating paint quantities.
- Knowledge of masonry, concrete finishing, welding, maintenance person tasks, renovation processes, and fixture installation is beneficial.
