A Folder Gluer Operator sets up, operates, and maintains machinery that folds, glues, and finishes paperboard packaging to meet quality and production standards. Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Machine Setup (Make-Ready): Configure the folder-gluer for different types of die cut forms (2 and 3 panel) based on job specifications.
- Operations: Run machinery at capacity while minimizing waste of glue and sheet stock.
- Quality Control: Monitor production, checking for proper folding, glue application, and affixing defects.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance.
- Documentation: Complete production reports, data logs, and maintenance records.
- Safety: Adhere to safety, sanitation, and GMP standards.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Previous experience operating folder-gluer equipment (e.g., Signature, Bobst, etc) is typically required.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to troubleshoot equipment and make minor to medium repairs
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40-50 lbs.
- Technical Skills: Understanding of folding techniques, adhesive application, and quality standards.
Ability to train and learn cameras and detection systems
Ability to train and learn insertion / affixing on to blanks to be folded and glued
Ability to train and learn data, sequencing, product labeling, etc
Common Physical Requirements
- Standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, and lifting heavy boxes of product.
- Working in a manufacturing environment with moderate to semi-high noise levels.
