Primary Purpose
This position is to actively engage in the development and transformation of the people and process as they focus on the product portfolio at Ravenswood.
This role’s primary focus will be on Quality Systems but will also engage in product development and process robustness within the plant in support of the overall growth and development of our organization to meet the ever changing and increasingly more demanding needs of business and customers.
This role’s time will be balanced 40/40/20 between individual contributor, team member and team leader and provides a wide range of quality engineering support to maintain and improve the quality management system (QMS) in accordance with ISO9001, AS9100, IATF16949 requirements and customer requirements.
Key Accountabilities
· Support key projects to help Ravenswood achieve their goals.
· Use Six Sigma methodologies and statistical analysis.
· Interpret customer needs and requirements, translate concepts into practice, identify process improvement opportunities, and quantify results and trends.
· Support the customer claims process investigation, root cause analysis, and opportunities for improvement.
· Support Kaizen and Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs) and overseeing process improvement projects.
· Support the facility in tracking key performance KPI’s to support cost of quality system.
· Support the internal nonconformance process investigation, root cause analysis, and opportunities for improvement.
· Manage and own the facility’s recovery process investigation, root cause analysis, and opportunities for improvement to drive Aluminum improvement and control of Recovery KPI’s.
· Lead and Support the Companies objective of digital implementation
· Train and support the implementation of ETQ to support quality systems
· Support the quality systems manager in external audits, audit preparation, internal audits, supplier audits, and quality systems implementation.
· Facilitate and lead training events for area managers, internal auditors, quality systems, new employee onboarding, and ETQ quality systems.
Leadership Competencies, Technical Skills Requirement
Leadership
· The ability to communicate effectively with top management, peers, and lower management down to operators at every level of the organization is critical in both written and oral formats. Particular emphasis is placed on quality system requirements and customer expectations.
· The ability to work effectively to engage employees at all levels, get buy in, and manage change with particular emphasis on problem solving.
· The ability to effectively train others on specific policies, procedures, and regulations is required.
Technical
·Degreed Industrial Engineer strongly preferred. Four-year degree in Technical, Engineering, Business, Material Science or Metallurgy considered. Early career candidates who want to stay in the Quality space long-term considered.
· Experience working in a mature quality driven culture
· Strong skills and experience related to Quality Management Systems
· Strong communication and presentation Skills
· Certified lead auditor training certification preferred (AS9100 or IATF16949)
· ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred
