Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Certified Dietary Manager to oversee the dietary operations within our facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and extensive experience in dietary management. This role involves managing meal planning, supervising staff, ensuring compliance with health standards, and supporting residents’ nutritional needs through personalized care plans.
Duties
- Develop and implement nutritious, appealing menus tailored to the needs of residents, including those requiring specialized diets such as tube feeding or diagnostic evaluation diets.
- Supervise dietary staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to foster a collaborative team environment.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of meals, ensuring adherence to safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
- Conduct patient assessments to determine individual dietary requirements and create appropriate care plans aligned with medical recommendations.
- Manage dietary department budgets, monitor inventory levels, and control food costs effectively to ensure operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support residents’ health coaching initiatives and overall wellness goals.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines related to assisted living facilities and healthcare nutrition standards.
- Supervise tube feeding procedures and ensure proper documentation and safety protocols are followed.
Skills
- Proven management experience within dietary departments or assisted living environments.
- Strong understanding of patient assessment techniques and care plan development.
- Ability to supervise staff effectively while fostering a positive team culture.
- Familiarity with budgeting practices and inventory control within a food service context.
- Excellent leadership skills combined with clear communication abilities for training and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- Develops, implements and maintains safety standards.
