What are the responsibilities and job description for the Light Truck Drivers position at Pleasant View Gardens?
Description- Drivers will operate vehicles safely, and keep organized and accurate records, Inform Logistics Coordinator and/or appropriate staff when problems arise: -Map out and organize daily delivery routes and follow delivery schedules -Safely operate the equipment necessary (cages, load bars, straps, pallet jacks, maps, and GPS units) -Unload trucks when returning from runs; load vehicles when necessary
- Complete and keep DOT logs, record and run sheets up to date -Document shortages and discrepancies and provide this information in a timely manner to appropriate Logistics team member -Maintain professional communication -Test vehicles equipment, such as lights, brakes, horns, or windshield wipers, to ensure proper operation, take vehicle to mechanic for service -Vacuum and clean interiors, and wash and polish exteriors of automobiles
- Transport passengers on a scheduled basis -Additional second shift hours may be offered
- Transport farm grown products Skills: -Professional appearance and service oriented disposition to interact with customers -Ability to complete DOT paperwork and pass a DOT drug and alcohol screen -Possesses professional and effective interpersonal and communication skills -Keep vehicles clean and let team members know if there is a vehicle problem
- Complete DVCR's (Vehicle Condition Report) -Must be able to maneuver up to 150 lbs.
- Possesses excellent time management, planning, decision making, and problem solving skills -Have solid work ethic and ability to work under pressure -Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and self-motivated skills
- Good knowledge of equipment and roads -Able to read customers' orders and follow directions Requirements: Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum 1year recent driving experience Requires valid driver's license or driver's license issued by a US state Must have acceptable MVR and provide documentation Must be able to obtain DOT examiners medial card before commencing work Must be insurable by the employers insurance company Ability to communicate, rad, and comprehend traffic signage as well as DOT logs
