WHAT YOUR DAY AS A RECREATION ASSISTANT *ACTUALLY* LOOKS LIKE

Here's the kind of work you'll be excited to dive into:

As a part-time Recreation Assistant, you will work closely with the Recreation Director to keep our youth sports programs and community events running smoothly. You'll prepare team rosters, schedule games, organize coach meetings, manage equipment inventory, and deliver jerseys where needed. You'll help coordinate, train, and supervise seasonal recreation staff to ensure programs are well-supported and consistent. On game days, you may step in to officiate or assist as needed. You'll also play a hands-on role in city events, helping with everything from facility reservations to CERT and Youth City Council activities.

YOU'LL WORK THESE HOURS AS OUR RECREATION ASSISTANT

This is a part-time recreational position averaging 15–20 hours per week. Your schedule will vary by season but will typically include Monday through Thursday evenings from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM during sports programming, with occasional Saturdays, especially from January through March.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (AKA: YOU?)

• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of part-time experience in the recreation field (or similar training/education)
• Knowledge of the basics of baseball, football, and basketball
• Strong communication skills and passion for helping people

CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
