JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE : Special Education Paraeducator
DATE : August 2024
QUALIFICATIONS : High school graduate with post-secondary education and / or experience in areas related to the listed performance responsibilities.
REPORTS TO : Building Principal
JOB GOAL : The special education aide will assist a certified teacher(s) in the supervision of an individual student with an Individual Education Plan and / or small groups of students, with physical, emotional, mental and / or communicative disabilities at an assigned school site and assist students in developing various self-help, social, and community skills.
JOB DUTIES
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :
Salary and work year assigned according to the Letter of Assignment.
EVALUATION :
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the building-level administrator using the Classified Staff Evaluation instrument.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Medium Work - lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly. More physical demands could be possible based on student needs. Stooping and kneeling occasionally. Reaching, talking, and hearing frequently. Must be able to remain mobile throughout the workday. Works in standard office and school building environments.
