Job Description:
Pleasant Meadows Senior Living is looking for an engaging and creative Activity Aide to join our team and help create a vibrant, fun community for our residents! As an Activity Aide, you will work closely with our Activity Director and occasionally independently to plan and facilitate exciting events and activities that enhance the lives of our residents. The ideal candidate will be creative, detail-oriented, and have a passion for working with older adults in a supportive, enriching environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning, organizing, and leading daily, weekly, and monthly recreational activities that promote residents’ physical, mental, and social well-being.
- Collaborate with the Activity Director to create engaging programs tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and needs.
- Provide companionship and support, especially to residents with memory care or dementia, ensuring a positive and enriching environment.
- Manage event logistics, including scheduling, coordinating resources, and working with volunteers.
- Foster meaningful connections with residents, families, and staff to ensure effective communication and support.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, promoting independence and enhancing quality of life.
- Ensure activities are delivered on time, safely, and within budget.
Qualifications:
- Experience in long-term care, home & community care, or a similar setting preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members.
- Knowledge of recreational therapy and event planning.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s and dementia care, as well as caregiving for individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to manage schedules and assist with ADLs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
