The Pleasant Hope R-VI School District is currently accepting applications for a Substitute Nurse (RN or LPN). Fingerprint and satisfactory background check required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Unencumbered nursing license for the State of Missouri or another compact state (RN or LPN).
- A valid CPR certification
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to: Building Principals & District Administration
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: PRN
POSITION SUMMARY:
The nurse is responsible for providing the fullest possible educational opportunity for each district student, by minimizing absence due to illness, and creating a climate of health and well-being in the district school.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will require the substitute nurse to care for students PK-12 at the direction of the building nurse they are filling in for. This may include but is not limited to: medication administration, vital signs, hygiene care, mental health concerns, behavioral observation, first aid, and emergency management of children and staff.
Substitute nurses will be required to communicate with other school personnel as well as parents of the students they are caring for. Charting is completed either on paper or in an Electronic Health Record. This position may require travel between school buildings within the district.
