What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pool and Aquatics Manager position at Pleasant Beach Village?
The Pool at Pleasant Beach is seeking an organized, proactive, and reliable individual to oversee our aquatics department for the seasonal pool season, approximately May through October. In this role, you will manage all aspects of daily pool operations, including scheduling and supervising lifeguards, hiring and training aquatics staff, coordinating swim programs, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for members and guests.
The Aquatics Manager is responsible for maintaining water safety standards, enforcing pool rules and policies, monitoring pool deck activities, and responding to any incidents or emergencies as needed. You will work closely with our facilities team to address pool maintenance needs, water quality concerns, and equipment upkeep to ensure smooth and safe operations throughout the season.
Administrative responsibilities include tracking daily attendance, managing staffing levels, maintaining safety and incident documentation, requesting repairs or services, and helping develop and implement updated aquatics safety procedures. Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, outdoor environment are essential.
A background in aquatics, swimming, and pool operations is required, along with current lifeguard and CPR/First Aid certifications (or the ability to obtain them prior to the season). This is a hands-on leadership role for someone passionate about water safety and creating a positive pool experience for our community.
