Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration units, ventilation fans, and related mechanical equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Conduct routine inspections of HVAC systems to identify potential problems before they escalate, ensuring continuous operation.
- Perform plumbing work related to HVAC systems such as condensate drainage and refrigerant piping.
- Utilize diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and other testing equipment to evaluate system performance and identify electrical or mechanical faults.
- Repair or replace components such as compressors, fans, motors, valves, and control systems to restore optimal functioning.
- Maintain detailed service records, including work performed, parts used, and system conditions for future reference or warranty purposes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration), with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
- Construction experience or familiarity with building systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to read schematics and HVAC design documents accurately.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
- Skilled in plumbing repairs related to HVAC systems and property maintenance tasks.
- Experience with appliance repair and general equipment maintenance is beneficial.
- Mechanical aptitude with proficiency in welding and boiler maintenance is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with field service operations involving equipment repair in diverse environments.
