About the Position
PLDR Law seeks an experienced legal support staff member with exposure to various practice areas to assist and enhance a growing, fast-paced, and innovative law firm. Pay is commensurate with experience and annual salary ranges between $45,000 and $55,000 per year.
The ideal candidate would have a background in litigation: commercial and general civil litigation, collections, personal injury, and other related practice areas. Our legal support staff play a vital role in achieving our Firm's goals and in the case management of each of our practice areas. We heavily rely on teamwork, and this role works closely with attorneys, clients, and other professional staff members.
Responsibilities
- Draft, edit, and format various pleadings, documents, and correspondence
- Summarize and organize documents and records
- Coordinate mailings, deliveries, and court (paper and electronic) filings
- Work consistently and effectively in a team environment
- Provide general support to clients and visitors in person, over the phone, and online
- Organize and maintain client files, and prepare client files for closing
Skills
- Proven experience as a paralegal or legal assistant
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
- Ability to maintain accurate time records
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate in person, via email, and telephone to provide information with professional courtesy and friendliness
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to compile and analyze data and furnish information in report format, in written correspondence, via email, or verbally
- Willingness to learn and expand knowledge and skills
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
- Access to a vehicle and willingness to drive to complete firm-related tasks
- Prior law firm experience required
