Job Description/Summary: Responsible for attending to the needs of guests, check-in and check-out, taking reservations, answering phones.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Providing information to guests about hotel policies, services and
- Responding to requests from guests for assistance and information about the local area
- Selling rooms to "walk-in" customers
- Checking guests in and out, and entering information in property management system
- Issuing and controlling room keys
- Posting charges and payments to guest accounts, making change, balancing cash drawer
- Coordinating with housekeeping department about room status and availability
- Coordinating with maintenance department on maintenance related issues and room status
- Listening for and responding to guest concerns, suggestions and complaints
- Refer any escalated issues to the Front Office Manager
- Answering phones, entering new reservations, selling the properties, inquiries, etc
- Responding to all incoming front office emails
- Maintain the overall cleanliness of the front office area, lobby and conference room
- Making coffee, set up and clean up of social hour, empty garbage bins
- Ensuring safety and security of property and guests
- Prepare guest registration cards
- Perform all duties as indicated on the daily shift checklist
- Prepare and follow daily housekeeping reports for check ins, check outs, services and available rooms
- Assist housekeeping with washing, drying and folding laundry
- Consistently do hotel walk-arounds, picking up trash, cleaning ask trays, etc..
- Close pool at sunset, cover pool in winter months, straighten out chairs, put things back in their place.
- Must adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company, including, but not limited to those contained in the employee handbook.
The Plaza Beach Resorts is a collection of award winning resorts on St Pete Beach. We are looking for a motivated person who can work independently in a high-paced environment. The hotel is family- owned and operated and the owners are on property on a daily basis; this is not a large corporate environment. Candidate should have computer skills, some selling skills and be a people person. Prior hotel front office experience preferred but not necessary; we are willing to train if you are willing to learn. THIS OFFICE STAYS BUSY ALL DAY LONG AND FRONT DESK AGENTS ARE REQUIRED TO MULTITASK. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
