We are looking for a technically minded Live Ops Configuration Engineer to help own and operate the configuration systems that power our live game experiences. You’ll work hands-on with internal tools, configuration pipelines, and environment controls to ensure content launches, events, and platform updates deploy smoothly and reliably.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage and update live game configuration using proprietary internal tooling and JSON-based config systems
- Maintain high accuracy across multiple environments (dev, staging, production)
- Debug and resolve configuration discrepancies with logs, validation tools, or dashboard diagnostics.
- Maintain operational calendars for content releases, events, and platform updates.
- Work closely with Live Ops and QA to ensure configuration bundles are validated, tested, and approved before deployment.
- Participate in release readiness checks and environment verification
- Monitor configuration rollouts and automated checks; identify misfires or unexpected behaviors early.
- Assist with urgent live configuration fixes and special event deployments
- Provide technical insights to help triage live issues
- Document workflows, runbooks, and configuration standards
- Identify recurring friction points and propose improvements to tools, validation flows, or release pipelines.
- Contribute ideas to make configuration management more robust, scalable, and automated over time.
- 2 years of experience in live operations, QA, release engineering, production support, or a technical support role
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Information Systems, or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple configurations and deadlines simultaneously
- Technical curiosity and comfort learning complex internal tools
- Solid communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
- Familiarity with JSON, YAML, XML, or other structured configuration formats
- Understanding of version control systems (Git preferred)
- Basic knowledge of databases (SQL literacy a plus)
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, Node.js or similar) is a significant plus
- Exposure to CI/CD tools, configuration validators, or spreadsheet tools (Excel macro, Google Sheets Apps Script) is helpful
- Experience supporting or testing live service systems (games or SaaS) is a bonus.
