Business Development / Landscape Architect Strategist

Location: Fort Myers, FL (Other locations considered: Orlando or Fort Lauderdale/Miami)

Travel: Approximately 50% throughout Florida

Compensation: 75,000-95,000

Job Type: Full-time

About the Role

The Business Development / Landscape Architect Strategist is a forward-thinking relationship builder responsible for expanding Playmore’s presence throughout Florida.

This individual will drive new market growth by influencing specifications with Landscape Architects and opening A-level accounts such as large school districts, municipalities, and national/regional builders or developers.

The role combines strategic outreach, technical design collaboration, and business development to ensure Playmore products are specified early and successfully transitioned to our Project Management team for fulfillment.

📍 Position based in Fort Myers, FL. Other areas (Orlando or Fort Lauderdale/Miami) considered depending on experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Market Expansion

  • Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new “A-level” accounts — including large city and county parks departments, school districts, and builders/developers (e.g., DR Horton, Pulte, Lennar, Toll Brothers, etc.).
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline through consistent outreach, relationship management, and networking.
  • Develop tailored growth strategies for targeted sectors and high-potential regions within Florida.
  • Represent Playmore at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to enhance brand awareness and cultivate partnerships.

Specification Development & Design Influence

  • Build relationships with landscape architecture firms and design professionals to secure specifications for playgrounds, outdoor fitness areas, shade structures, and site furnishings.
  • Conduct lunch-and-learns, educational sessions, and design consultations positioning Playmore as a trusted partner.
  • Track projects through design and bid phases, ensuring timely handoff to the Project Management team.

Strategic Collaboration & Account Transition

  • Collaborate with internal Project Managers and the Sales Team to ensure smooth project transitions from design to installation.
  • Partner with marketing and leadership on regional growth campaigns and outreach programs.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records of all business development and specification activities.

Ideal Candidate

  • Energetic, entrepreneurial, and passionate about outdoor recreation, design, and community development.
  • Proven relationship builder comfortable engaging decision-makers across multiple sectors.
  • Organized and persistent — able to manage long sales cycles from concept to installation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
  • 3–7 years of experience in business development, landscape architecture, or design sales (recreation/site furnishings industry preferred).
  • Demonstrated success developing new accounts with municipalities, school districts, or developers.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using CRM platforms and managing long-term pipelines.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Florida (~50%).
