Position Summary


The Clinical Team Lead is a hands-on clinical leader responsible for creating exceptional experience for our patients, families, and team members. Working closely with the Practice Manager and providers, this role leads the clinical team, supports efficient patient flow, reinforces high standards of care, and helps build a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture. The Clinical Team Lead leads by example—actively participating in patient care while coaching and developing team members and ensuring the practice is clinically prepared to deliver great care every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, coaching, and support to clinical team members while creating a culture of teamwork, accountability, and exceptional patient care.
  • Ensure efficient patient flow and proactively identify and resolve workflow issues that impact providers, patients, or the team.
  • Remain actively engaged in patient care and model professionalism, teamwork, reliability, and Playground Pediatrics' values.
  • Coach, mentor, train, and provide ongoing feedback to clinical team members; partner with the Practice Manager and HR on performance concerns when appropriate.
  • Ensure patients and families receive compassionate, responsive care and address or escalate concerns promptly.
  • Work closely with physicians, APPs, and the Practice Manager to identify clinical needs, improve workflows, and support the overall success of the practice.
  • Ensure vaccines, clinical supplies, equipment, immunization registries, and other clinical resources are appropriately maintained and available.
  • Ensure the clinical team follows established clinical standards, documentation requirements, policies, HIPAA, OSHA, safety practices, and other applicable requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve clinical workflows, team performance, patient experience, and practice operations and help implement solutions.
  • Foster an environment where team members communicate openly, support one another, take ownership, and remain focused on providing exceptional experience for children and families.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the team and practice.
Requirements:


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current applicable medical/clinical certification required.
  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric clinical experience required.
  • Current BCLS certification is required and maintained in accordance with certification requirements.
  • Previous experience coaching, mentoring, or leading clinical team members preferred.
  • Triage experience preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems and comfort using standard workplace technology.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with professionalism, accountability, empathy, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment, adapt to changing priorities, and work collaboratively with providers, leaders, team members, patients, and families.

Work Environment & Expectations

This is a full-time, on-site position in a pediatric medical practice and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The role may require occasional evenings or weekends based on practice needs and travel of up to 20%. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation and comply with all applicable Company policies, clinical standards, and safety requirements.
