Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Groomer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the appearance, care, and handling of dogs in a variety of settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dog grooming, animal care and handling, as well as excellent customer service skills. This position is perfect for individuals who love working with animals and are committed to providing the highest level of care.
Responsibilities
- Provide intimate care for dogs.
- Coat care and styling to pet parents requests or breed standards.
- Dog hygiene and upkeep as well as health monitoring.
- Checking pets in, making repeat appointments, & building business.
- Handle dogs safely and effectively during all spa sessions and other interactions.
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the facility, including kennels and play areas.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dogs' needs and progress.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive environment for both staff and animals.
Qualifications
- MUST be able to stand for 6-8hrs.
- Ability to lift and maneuver dogs of all shapes and sizes
- Skilled with grooming tools, such as nail clippers, sheers, clippers, and different brushes
- Calm yet authoritative demeanor to help control and soothe nervous pets
- Detail oriented
- Ability to communicate with owners and recognize non-verbal communication cues in dogs
- Artistic ability and familiarity with different dog breeds for advanced styling assignments
- Understanding of the characteristics and grooming needs of different coat types (e.g., short, long, curly)
- Previous experience with Gingr a plus.
- Comfortable working with minimal supervision, managing your own pipeline, and driving revenue independently
- Demonstrated success in building long-term trust to drive repeat business and client retention
