DESCRIPTION
Thank you for your interest in joining the cast of our Fall 2026 run (September 10-27, 2026) of DAY OF THE HOG by Annie Brown at The Players Theatre.
Day of the Hog is a darkly funny new play set in Punxsutawney, PA, where two hedgehogs brace for
Groundhog Day as the weight of a potentially extended winnter threatens their home, their survival, and
their love. As Phil’s shadow looms large, what begins as absurd woodland satire slowly spirals into a
sharply tragic, intimate story about survival in a system that was never built for you.
Performance Period:
- September 10–27, 2026 (Thursdays–Saturday Nights/Sunday Mat.)
- 12 performances at the Steve and Marie Sgouros Theatre, The Players Theatre.
Rehearsal Period:
- July & August 2026
- Possible developmental session May 2026.
- Rehearsals will be held on select weekday afternoons & Sunday evenings.
- Actors may not be called to all rehearsals but should have general availability for these times. Rehearsals may extended during tech week.
AUDITIONS CLOSE, APRIL 5th
*All actors will be compensated via stipend ($50-100) profit split at the conclusion of the run*
