Job Summary

We are looking for an ambitious and hard-working material handler to support our growing company’s warehouse operations. Material handlers perform a variety of tasks that may include receiving and processing incoming LEGO parts and sets, picking and filling orders from inventory, packing and shipping orders, and organizing/maintaining the warehouse. We prize speed and accuracy above all else, so preferred applicants would have a great eye for detail, be thorough, and have basic math skills. Position is typically first shift Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday hours during Christmas time. Pay will be commensurate with experience and starts at $14 per hour.

Material Handler Responsibilities

  • Prepare orders by pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards
  • Record and manage all impaired or damaged merchandise items
  • Enter data in inventory and logistics software programs
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed into our inventory system
  • Assist in the counting of physical inventory
  • Back up support to other areas in company as needed
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves and work stations neat; Sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times
  • Occasionally assist receiving unloading trucks and organizing merchandise
  • Occasionally assist with mail runs to FedEx and the Post Office
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers

Physical Demands and Abilities

  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs; occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs with equipment/support
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance

Material Handler Requirements

  • Attention to detail (noticing patterns, discrepancies, etc.)
  • Good communication, organizational, time management and mathematical skills
  • Dependable and reliable; a team player
  • Inventory, data entry and some computer skills required
  • Ability to work on feet for 8 hours
  • Ability to work independently, timely, and safely
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 yrs previous warehouse experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 per hour
