Work Location & Schedule
- Location: Avenir Community | Northlake Blvd & Avenir Dr, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33412
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, June 1st – August 8th
- Hours: 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $16–$20 per hour, dependent on experience
- Approximately 30 hours per week expected
Required Certifications (Pre-Start Requirement)
- Valid CPR/AED, First Aid, and Lifeguard Certifications must be obtained prior to the start of camp
- Candidates must provide certification documentation before their first scheduled shift
Position Summary
Play Academy is seeking a highly organized, energetic, and experienced Camp Director to oversee the planning, execution, and day-to-day operations of our summer and seasonal camps. This individual will lead a team of counselors and instructors, ensure a safe and fun environment for campers, and maintain a high standard of program quality and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of camp operations, including daily schedules, activities, and staffing
- Lead and support camp counselors, instructors, and volunteers to ensure high-quality program delivery
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and positive experience of all campers
- Manage camper registration, attendance, and parent communication
- Monitor program quality and implement improvements based on feedback and observation
- Maintain compliance with all community safety and organizational policies and procedures
- Prepare reports and communicate updates to management
- Represent Play Academy professionally and positively at all times
Independent Contractor Status (1099)
- This position will be classified as a 1099 Independent Contractor
- Responsible for taxes, insurance, and compliance as applicable
- Flexible schedule required, including early mornings and occasional extended hours during camp sessions

- Prior experience managing or directing youth camps or recreational programs required
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
- Ability to plan and organize complex schedules and activities
- Reliable, professional, and solution-oriented
- Experience with youth development and age-appropriate programming preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lead and supervise physical activities and remain active throughout the camp day
- Ability to lift light equipment and manage supplies as needed
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency or high-activity situations
Salary : $16 - $20
