Position Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily housekeeping operation across all assigned hotel properties. This role ensures guestrooms and public areas consistently meet brand and company cleanliness standards while leading, training, and supporting the housekeeping team.
The supervisor is expected to lead by example, inspect rooms, coach team members, assist with cleaning when necessary, coordinate with Maintenance and Front Desk, and ensure every guest receives an exceptional experience.
This position may work at any Play Park Hospitality property as business needs require.
Essential ResponsibilitiesDaily Operations
- Supervise room attendants, housepersons, and laundry attendants.
- Assign daily boards and room assignments.
- Monitor productivity throughout the shift.
- Ensure rooms are cleaned according to company standards.
- Prioritize VIPs, early arrivals, stayovers, and rush rooms.
- Verify all occupied, vacant, and out-of-order rooms are properly serviced.
- Assist with cleaning rooms during busy periods.
Quality Assurance
- Inspect guestrooms for cleanliness and maintenance issues.
- Ensure rooms meet inspection standards before releasing them.
- Verify:
- Beds are properly made
- Bathrooms sanitized
- Floors vacuumed/mopped
- Dust removed
- Amenities stocked
- Linens wrinkle free
- Furniture arranged properly
- Conduct random quality inspections throughout the day.
- Maintain housekeeping inspection scores above company standards.
Team Leadership
- Train new housekeeping employees.
- Conduct ongoing coaching and retraining.
- Monitor attendance and performance.
- Promote teamwork and accountability.
- Recognize outstanding employee performance.
- Address performance issues promptly and professionally.
Inventory & Supplies
- Monitor linen inventory.
- Track guest room supplies.
- Maintain housekeeping closets.
- Report low inventory.
- Assist with monthly inventory counts.
- Reduce waste and control supply costs.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure OSHA and safety standards are followed.
- Maintain proper chemical handling procedures.
- Verify SDS books remain current.
- Report safety hazards immediately.
- Ensure proper lifting techniques are used.
- Conduct routine safety walkthroughs.
Communication
- Coordinate with Front Desk regarding:
- Early arrivals
- VIP guests
- Late checkouts
- Stayovers
- Room status
- Report maintenance issues using the work order system.
- Communicate staffing needs to management.
- Participate in daily operational meetings.
Administrative Duties
- Complete daily inspection reports.
- Verify room status accuracy in Flexkeeping.
- Monitor housekeeping productivity.
- Assist with scheduling.
- Approve completed boards.
- Document coaching conversations.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping experience required
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Hospitality experience strongly preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
Performance Expectations
- Guest room inspection score: 95% or higher
- Guest satisfaction cleanliness score: 4.6/5 or higher
- Complete room inspections by check-in time.
- Minimize room returns.
- Maintain accurate room status.
- Promote a positive, team-oriented culture.
- 99% staff usage of flexkeeping
Pay: $23.00 - $25.29 per hour
