Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development for infants and toddlers
- Support daily routines such as feeding, diapering, nap times, and playtime with attentive care and patience
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment by following health and safety protocols, including pediatric first aid and CPR procedures
- Engage children through interactive play, encouraging curiosity and exploration while fostering positive behavior management techniques
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress, needs, and daily experiences to build strong relationships
- Support classroom organization by preparing materials, setting up learning centers, and assisting with classroom management strategies
- Follow mandated reporting laws to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in accordance with legal requirements
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in daycare centers, preschool settings, or nannying/babysitting roles is highly valued
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Certification in first aid, CPR, pediatric first aid or related safety training preferred but not required; willingness to obtain certification upon hire is expected
- Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
- Demonstrated ability to supervise children effectively while maintaining a nurturing environment
