Licensed Clinical Social Worker Pediatric Outpatient Therapy Clinic

Play n' Grow Therapy
Algonquin, IL Part Time
POSTED ON 7/6/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/30/2026

Flexible Schedule | Competitive Pay | Supportive Small-Clinic Environment in Algonquin, IL

Looking for a pediatric mental health position that feels sustainable, flexible, and genuinely enjoyable?

At Play n’ Grow Therapy, we’re a small, relationship-based practice that values supporting both our clients and our clinicians. We believe meaningful therapy happens when clinicians feel trusted, supported, and have the freedom to practice authentically.

.We’re looking for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team part-time. This position is a great fit for clinicians looking for a smaller caseload, working parents, school-based social workers looking to supplement a few hours in the evenings, or therapists looking to build a private practice caseload without the administrative burden of doing it alone. It is also a great fit for a clinician who wants to grow with us long-term and enjoys being part of a small clinic atmosphere with tremendous potential for growth and leadership. Whether you’re looking for just a few clients per week or hoping to build a fuller caseload, we’re happy to work with you to create something that fits your life.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing individual mental health therapy services to children and adolescents in our clinic
  • Providing parent support, coaching, and consultation as appropriate
  • Occasionally providing teletherapy services when clinically appropriate
  • Completing intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required documentation
  • Collaborating closely with families, caregivers, schools, and other providers when appropriate
  • Participating in interdisciplinary collaboration with occupational therapists and speech therapists
  • Contributing to a supportive, relationship-based clinic culture
  • Opportunities to facilitate social skills groups, parent workshops, and community programs based on your interests

Most of the children and families we work with are seeking support with emotional regulation, anxiety, social-emotional development, behavioral challenges, executive functioning, self-esteem, life transitions, and family relationships. We prioritize connection, flexibility, and creating a safe space where children and their parents feel understood and supported.

Schedule
One of the biggest perks of this role is flexibility. Want to see just a few clients a week? That’s okay. Looking for a fuller caseload? We’d love that too. You can provide as little as 4 client sessions per week on the day(s) of your choosing, or give us broader availability and we’ll build a schedule that works for you.

Compensation
Compensation is competitive and will be discussed during the interview process. Pay is based on experience and the overall responsibilities of the role. We believe in recognizing growth and contributions to the practice. There are opportunities for raises, promotions, and additional paid opportunities throughout the year, including:

  • Presentations and trainings
  • Workshops and community events
  • Social groups
  • Parent support programs
  • Special projects and program development
  • Other occasional opportunities that align with your interests and strengths

We value long-term growth and are committed to supporting team members as they develop their skills, interests, and career goals within the practice.

What We Value

  • Relationship-based care
  • Child-centered and developmentally appropriate approaches
  • Family-centered care
  • Neurodiversity-affirming practice
  • Strengths-based approaches
  • Collaboration and teamwork
  • Creating a supportive environment for both families and clinicians

This Might Be a Great Fit If You…

  • Love working with children, teens, and families
  • Enjoy helping children build emotional awareness, coping skills, and confidence
  • Appreciate flexibility and work-life balance
  • Enjoy having autonomy while still having support available when you need it
  • Like collaborating with other professionals as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Prefer a smaller clinic environment over a high-volume setting
  • Want to work somewhere where you’ll actually know your coworkers and the families you serve
  • Have a desire to learn, grow, and continuously develop your clinical skills alongside a small team of compassionate and dedicated professionals

What We’re Looking For

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Illinois
  • Experience working with children and families preferred
  • Strong clinical, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with, or interest in, child and adolescent mental health, emotional regulation, anxiety, ADHD, autism, behavioral challenges, family systems, and parent coaching
  • Clinicians who align with a neurodiversity-affirming and strengths-based philosophy of care

How to Apply
If this sounds like a good fit, we’d love to hear from you. Send your resume and a brief introduction about yourself to karina@playngrowtherapy.com.

We’ll reach out to schedule a casual 30-minute virtual interview so we can get to know each other and answer any questions you may have.

We look forward to connecting with you!
