Pay
Salaries are paid bi-weekly and are annualized below for reference. Factors that may be used to determine actual salary include special skills, years of experience, education, and certifications.
Full range: $39.61 to $53.48 per hour
Hiring range: $39.61 to $46.54 per hour

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Models the mission, vision, values, and culture of the organization
- Maintains all vehicles and fleet related equipment through routine maintenance, repairs, and occasional custom fabrication
- Maintains a detailed list of eligible fleet replacements and assists in creating the capital replacement plan for fleet units
- Creates and updates vehicle records in a computerized maintenance management system and captures predictive and preventative maintenance requirements
- Coordinates the DOT program including registration, licensing, insurance coordination, DOT vehicle inspections and DOT fleet repairs
- Diesel mechanic for all related equipment
- Serves as administrator WEX fuel card system to all employees
- Performs custom upfits and fabrication for fleet units
- Works with vendors to order supplemental parts, supplies and required equipment
- Maintains heavy equipment
- Maintains emergency response vehicles and equipment
- Performs aerial device (boom lifts, bucket trucks, cranes) inspections as required, documents all deficiencies, and tracks all necessary repairs
- Conducts driver road testing for all new hires or new Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) drivers
- Able to perform safety inspections and has the ability to add or remove red-tags to fleet units
- Maintains all DOT recordkeeping and the subject matter expert in the event of a DOT audit
- Maintains cleanliness of executive fleet units
- Snow removal
- Assists with general buildings and grounds maintenance activities
- Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- DOT vehicle requirements and recordkeeping
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams
- Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with others (internal and external)
- Customer service oriented to listen to customer needs and work with them
- Excellent time management skills, verbal, and written communications skills
- Must be well-organized and able to exercise initiative and independent judgment
- Custom fabrication and metal working is preferred
- Ability to operate equipment such as skid steer, forklift, lawn equipment, dump truck and snow removal equipment is preferred
Required education and licenses
- High school diploma
- Current valid driver's license and ability to remain insurable under the vehicle liability policy
- Class A Commercial Driver's license or able to obtain within the first 18 months of employment
- Completion of CMV driver ability testing analysis or ability to obtain within first 6 months of employment
- OSHA Aerial & Scissor Lift Certification or ability to obtain within first 6 months of employment
- Seven years of experience repairing and maintaining vehicles and heavy equipment including both gasoline and diesel engines
- Two years of experience with arc and wire feed welding
- Technical background experience with large heavy mobile equipment
- Associate's in automotive technology
- Experience maintaining or repairing hybrid and electric vehicles
- Automotive Service Excellence certification (ASE)
- Certified welder
