Key Responsibilities
The Legal Assistant will perform a wide range of administrative and legal support tasks, including:
- Communication Management: Answer and direct phone calls, respond to emails, and serve as a point of contact for clients and external parties.
- Document Handling: Prepare, draft, proofread, and edit legal documents, correspondence, and reports.
- File Management: Organize, maintain, and update physical and electronic case files; scan and upload documents into case management systems.
- Scheduling: Coordinate and maintain attorneys’ calendars, schedule meetings, hearings, and court appearances.
- General Office Duties: Perform data entry, manage mail, and assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with legal software or case management systems is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to produce accurate work under deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Professionalism: Maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate excellent judgment in handling sensitive information.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities; professional and courteous demeanor.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
