Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lateral Transfer Deputy Sheriff to join our law enforcement team. Duties
- Enforce local, state, and federal laws to ensure public safety and order.
- Conduct criminal investigations, gather evidence, and prepare detailed reports.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and incidents, providing first aid or CPR as needed.
- Perform surveillance operations to monitor suspicious activities or persons of interest.
- Engage in conflict management to de-escalate tense situations effectively.
- Assist in animal handling and animal care when necessary within the scope of law enforcement duties.
- Manage security details at public events or high-risk locations.
- Conduct immigration law enforcement activities when applicable.
- Perform loss prevention activities and support community policing efforts.
- Write comprehensive reports documenting incidents, arrests, and investigations.
- Drive patrol vehicles safely while maintaining awareness of surroundings and potential threats.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior officers or trainees as needed.
Qualifications
- Prior law enforcement experience with successful lateral transfer eligibility.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Certifications in CPR and First Aid are highly desirable; CPR certification is preferred.
- Experience in criminal investigation, report writing, surveillance, conflict management, and security operations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively.
- Military experience or background in related fields such as security or animal handling is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Criminal law, loss prevention strategies, and law enforcement procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to write clear reports and interact professionally with the community. Pay: $19.50 - $22.50 per hour
