Job description:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have several years' experience in an engineering position within a manufacturing environment.
Job Purpose: To design and develop products which meet the design/sales requirements with an efficient design to manufacture that will ultimately increase overall business revenue. They may be assigned someone to “mentor” but not directly supervise who will work on the less “complex” aspects of the product.
Duties:
1. Utilizes 3D CAD software (Solid Edge) to model and draft complex parts and assemblies
2. Responsible for modifying current designs to improve functionality
3. Creates new products, to provide customer solutions
4. Confirm custom sales orders for accuracy and appropriate product selection
5. Provides support to manufacturing during the build of assemblies
6. Provides support to manufacturing on any drawing inquiries
7. Reviews new applications and configures suitable products
8. Proficient in structural and thermal Finite Element Analysis
9. Provides support to all departments within the company that require Engineering input
10. Works directly with Sales to ensure customer satisfaction is met
11. Maintain proper document revisions, BOMs, and routings in ERP system
12. Research and Development Support
13. To prepare, coordinate, and monitor new-to-world design projects from conception to final completion
14. Periodically reviews current designs and develops optimization based on current standards and manufacturing processes
15. Provides support for lower-level Engineering team members
16. Lead new application and troubleshooting discussions with customers
Key Accountabilities
1. Achieve the completion of designs in a timely manner, meeting dates on the Engineering schedule. The achievement of agreed to dates in the developed project plan cannot be over-emphasized and is critical in this position.
2. Ability to project manage assigned design engineering tasks. This includes doing research necessary to resolve technical problems and interfacing with the other areas of the company as necessary to complete the project.
3. Provide creative technical solutions to achieve results listed above.
