The position of Wire Room Lead will be based out of our Sumner, WA distribution center!

For the state of Washington only, the pay range is $23.48 to $30.52, depending upon qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law. Commission/Bonus Plan: Platt Distribution Center Bonus Plan

Summary:
The Wire Room Lead is responsible for directing work and performing other aspects of their department to facilitate workflow. When the Distribution Center Supervisor and/or Distribution Center Assistant Supervisor are not present, the Wire Room Lead position may be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the department. This position leads a small group of employees generally focused on a limited task.

• Assist in training employees, assigning, directing work, and need to fill in for absent personnel.
• Reliable and regular attendance required.
• When the Distribution Center Supervisor and/or Distribution Center Assistant Supervisor are not present, the Warehouse Leader position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the department.
• This position leads a small group of employees generally focused on a limited task.
• Must know all department functions, processes, and be certified to operate all material handling equipment: forklift, Stand-Up Rider pallet Jack, Electric Reach Truck, and High-Reach Narrow-Aisle.
• Ensure inbound and or outbound shipments and products are accurate and free of damage.
• Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all Materials Handling Equipment.
• Ensure that jobs are correctly implemented, assigned effectively, and completed properly.
• Issue written and oral work instructions.
• Maintain a safe, clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Interact with DC Manager, DC Asst. Manager, Supervisors, Asst. Supervisors, and co-workers regularly.
• Conduct operations in a manner, which promotes safety, and in accordance with OSHA and MSDS Standards.
• Assist in maintaining the security of the Distribution Center.
• Other duties as assigned by DC Supervisor.
• Overtime as needed.

Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred but not required.
• 1 years of warehouse work experience in high volume distribution center.
• Must be certified to operate all material handling equipment forklift, Stand-Up Rider pallet Jack, Electric Reach Truck, and High-Reach Narrow-Aisle.
• Ability to perform all job tasks associated with lower-level departmental positions is required.
• Proficiency in all aspects of department RF scanner, Warehouse Management Software (WMS) and AS400 in use at Distribution Centers.
• Must be service oriented, self-motivated, dependable, possess leadership skills, customer service skills.
• Understand and demonstrate company culture.
• Ability to perform various tasks on computers, including the use of Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic math skills to work environment.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and understand RF scanning devices.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
Training and certification on forklifts and high-reach narrow-aisle stand-up rider pallet trucks that conforms to OSHA safety training requirements.. CPR, First Aid and AED certified, required but not at time of hire.
