What are the responsibilities and job description for the Architectural Interior Designer position at PLATT?
Platt Architecture, a full-service architecture, construction, and interior design firm based in Brevard, N.C., is seeking a collaborative, creative, and results-oriented Architectural Interior Designer with experience in residential design. In this position, you will be involved in all phases of the design process, from schematics, selections, and construction documentation through construction administration.
Responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the project team to create a well-coordinated design
- Coordinating with internal and external designers, contractors, and vendors
- Participating in client meetings and job site visits to review design and select materials and finishes
- Documenting selected materials and finishes
- Participating in the completion of construction documents and specifications, including:
Storyboards
Interior Elevations of casework design and details, interior trim design and details, plumbing locations, and schedules: (room finish, casework, tile, slab work, and finish carpentry)
Coordination of lighting layouts & electrical plans
Developing and rendering of 3d models
Ensuring deliverables are up to date on internal servers and shared platforms
Maintaining notes and photos from meetings and job site visits
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
2 years of experience in the design field
Proficient competency with CAD software in an architectural setting
Proficient in ArchiCAD preferred
Proficient in Microsoft, Google, and Adobe applications
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Works well under pressure
