About the Role
Platinum Sound and Vision Corp. is seeking an experienced Low Voltage Field Technician to join our growing team. In this hands-on field role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and servicing of residential and commercial technology systems. You will work directly on job sites, interface professionally with clients, and take ownership of your work from rough-in through final commissioning.
Core Responsibilities
Audio / Video
• Install and configure distributed audio systems, home theater setups, and video distribution
• Mount and calibrate displays, projectors, and speakers
• Terminate and dress all AV cabling to a professional standard
Networking
• Run and terminate CAT6, fiber, and coax cabling
• Configure managed switches, routers, and wireless access points
• Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues on-site
Surveillance
• Install and configure IP and analog camera systems
• Set up NVR/DVR hardware and storage
• Configure remote viewing access for clients
General Field Duties
• Read and follow system design documentation, wiring diagrams, and project scopes
• Coordinate with GCs, electricians, and other trades on active job sites
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to all safety standards
• Document installation progress and communicate status to project managers
• Perform service calls and troubleshoot existing system issues
Requirements
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on field experience in low voltage / AV systems integration
• Verifiable professional references required — at least 2 from previous employers or clients
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and low voltage test equipment
• Working knowledge of structured wiring, AV signal flow, and IP networking fundamentals
• Ability to work independently, manage time on-site, and meet project deadlines
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various physical environments including attics, crawlspaces, and elevated surfaces
• Professional appearance and strong communication skills when interacting with clients
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Control4, Crestron, Savant, Lutron, or Leviton platforms
• BICSI, CompTIA Network , or equivalent certifications
• Experience using D-Tools or similar project management software
