Responsibilities
- Assist with surface preparation including sanding, scraping, caulking, and plastering to ensure surfaces are ready for painting.
- Being able to work at heights on ladders and scaffold.
- Apply paint, stain, or finishes using hand tools such as brushes, rollers.
- Support the setup and cleanup of work areas, including taping, masking, and protecting surrounding surfaces.
- Use power tools and hand tools safely to perform tasks like trim carpentry, fixture installation, or minor repairs during renovation projects.
- Participate in construction site activities such as scaffolding setup, drywall finishing, stucco application, and masonry work.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while gaining experience in construction estimating, schematics interpretation, and basic math calculations related to project measurements.
Requirements
- A strong interest in construction painting or renovation work with a desire to learn new skills.
- Basic familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment used in construction environments.
- Ability to work outdoors or on construction sites in various weather conditions.
- Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting materials, and performing manual tasks throughout the day. Being able to lift 80 lbs or more.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface preparation and paint coverage.
- Prior experience or knowledge in areas such as carpentry, plastering, caulking, or restoration is a plus but not required—training will be provided!
