Job Summary:
We are seeking a Medical Assistant - Front Office to join our orthopaedic medical team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing exceptional patient care by supporting medical staff and maintaining efficient office operations. In this particular role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, managing front desk operations with enthusiasm and proficiency. Your expertise in medical administrative support, health information management, and electronic health records (EHR) systems will ensure smooth clinic operations.
Responsibilities:
Front Office Medical Assistant duties and skills include but are not limited to:
- Welcomes and greets patients with a friendly and professional attitude, ensuring a positive experience
- Appointment scheduling using our EHR system to optimize clinic flow
- Check in and out patients
- Collect and update demographic information
- Collect and process payments through medical collection procedures
- Assist with intake procedures, including patient registration, data entry, and updating electronic health records (EHR)
- Support clinical staff by coordinating care plans documentation and facilitating communication between providers and patients
- Create new patient cases/appointments
- Schedule follow-up appointments
- Verify insurance eligibility
- Other duties as assigned to front office
Education:
- High School Diploma (Preferred)
- Medical Assistant graduate award/certificate
- New graduates are encouraged and welcomed to apply
Qualifications:
- Experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong front desk or administrative support background (preferred)
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Understanding of health insurance processes including eligibility
- Attention to detail
- Must be reliable, honest, dependable, and punctual
- Strong computer and typing skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Teamwork
- Familiarity with EMR systems (Preferred)
- Bilingual English/Spanish (Preferred)
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
