HVAC Foreman

JOB SUMMARY
The HVAC Foreman will be responsible for directing the removal, preparation, and installation of HVAC systems for primarily commercial HVAC. This position oversees and performs physical labor as part of a production crew and assists in all phases of commercial roofing projects including tear-off, installation, flashing, clean-up, and jobsite safety/housekeeping. This role requires strong technical skills, and attention to detail. The role requires reliability, physical endurance, and the ability to LEAD a team to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to company and manufacturer standards. The FOREMAN must be able to give direction, work within a team of others to perform a task, perform skilled details, work at heights, and ensure that all work is performed to code and in accordance with specifications.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• LEAD assigned production crew on commercial HVAC projects, setting expectations for safety, quality, and productivity.
• ASSIGN daily tasks and responsibilities to crew members based on project needs and individual skill levels.
• TRAIN, COACH, and MENTOR crew members on proper installation techniques, safety practices, and company standards.
• COLLABORATE with the assigned crew and work for the benefit of all.
• HOLD crew members accountable for performance, attendance, workmanship, and safety compliance.
• PROMOTE teamwork, professionalism, and a positive jobsite culture.
• OVERSEE all phases of HVAC installation including tear-out and installation.
• ENSURE all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications, drawings, company standards, and applicable codes.
• INSPECT completed work regularly to verify quality and address deficiencies promptly.
• COORDINATE workflow to meet production schedules and project deadlines.
• ENFORCE all OSHA regulations, fall protection requirements, PPE usage, and company safety policies.
• CONDUCT daily jobsite safety checks and participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• IDENTIFY AND CORRECT unsafe conditions immediately.
• REPORT incidents, near misses, hazards, and injuries according to company procedures.
• ENSURE proper setup, use, and removal of safety equipment including guardrails, harnesses, ladders, and scaffolding.
• MAINTAIN clean and safe job sites, following OSHA safety protocols and company guidelines.
• LEAD in weekly trainings and manufacturer system-specific training.
• ATTEND all companywide training events and any other training as assigned.
• SERVE AS PRIMARY ONSITE CONTACT between the crew and Production Superintendent or Project Manager.
• COMMUNICATE daily progress, manpower needs, material needs, delays, and issues.
• TRACK AND REPORT crew hours, production progress, and jobsite conditions as required.
• COORDINATE material staging and ensure proper handling and storage of materials.
• PERFORM roofing installation work alongside the crew as needed.
• OPERATE hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• ASSIST with equipment operation, material handling, and complex installation details when required.
• PERFORMS OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, materials, and installation techniques.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to lead and supervise crews effectively.
• Ability to use hand and power tools, safely and effectively.
• Ability to pay attention to quality and safety with a goal of installing correctly and working safely with a willingness to make improvements.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret work-related documents.
• Ability to work manual labor in all weather conditions.
• Ability to enforce safety standards while maintaining productivity.
• Ability to communicate clearly with crew members, management, inspectors, and other trades.
• Ability to work at heights, climb, stoop, bend over, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to communicate clearly with crew members, supervisors and clients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
5 years of HVAC experience
2 years of leadership or foreman experience
Ability to work 8 to 12 hours shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays with travel.
Willingness to comply with all safety standards and requirements
Current driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
5-7 years of experience in HVAC
HVAC experience in similar roles
Bilingual
CDL
OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour card
First Aid/CPR
Sheet Metal experience
Forklift certificate

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must pass a criminal background check
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must have and maintain a good driving record
Must pass preemployment drug screening
Must be able to climb & descend ladders up to but not limited to 40 feet in height, repeatedly throughout the workday
Must be able to work in high places & elevated surfaces
Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to use hand and power tools safely, effectively, and within proper use

WORK CONDITIONS:
Works outside in all types of weather and may be exposed to extreme heat and cold, rain, snow, sun etc.

This is a safety sensitive position due to driving requirements or job responsibilities whole include safety-sensitive tasks that require performing duties fraught with risk of injury to others where even a momentary lapse of attention may have grave and disastrous consequences.
