Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality.
- Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs.
- Supervise kitchen staff through training, development, and performance management to promote a high-performing team.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and sanitation regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow, including shift management and customer satisfaction.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using Aloha POS or Micros POS systems; oversee cash handling procedures.
- Implement staff scheduling, conduct interviews for new hires, and participate in hiring decisions to build a skilled culinary team.
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within full service restaurants .
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with a focus on staff training and development in hospitality or restaurant settings.
- Strong background in food safety practices, inventory control, and food production processes.
- Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS is highly desirable.
- Prior management experience in casual dining, fine dining, or hotel food service environments preferred.
- Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and food industry standards to support operational efficiency.
