You will play a key part in maintaining consistency, training other dental assistants, and ensuring each location is fully prepared for periodontal procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and prepare patients for periodontal treatments
- Assist the periodontist with 4-handed dentistry, surgical setups, and perio procedures
- Select, set up, and sterilize instruments and equipment
- Manage and order supplies for the traveling perio kit
- Communicate supply needs to each office
- Complete lab tasks as instructed
- Provide post-operative instructions
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked operatories
- Schedule appointments and maintain accurate patient records
Qualifications:
- Experience Required: Proven experience as a periodontal or specialty dental assistant—this role requires a confident, lead-level assistant
- Leadership Skills: Ability to train other DAs and oversee perio setup consistency
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of periodontal instruments, surgical procedures, and sterilization protocols
- Organization: Excellent attention to detail; able to manage inventory across multiple locations
- Communication: Strong communication skills with patients, teams, and office leadership
- Regulatory Understanding: Knowledge of health & safety regulations
