Production Manager – Auto Collision

Pay: $70,000–$85,000, based on experience and qualifications

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with rotating Saturdays from 8:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m.

Position Overview

The Auto Body Production Manager assigns repairs to technicians and oversees workflow to ensure every vehicle is repaired safely, efficiently and on schedule. This role leads the production team, maintains Platinum Collision’s standards for quality, productivity, and profitability, and promotes continuous improvement throughout the repair process.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Meet daily and weekly production and maintenance goals

· Assign work and direct production employees to ensure repair orders are completed according to each repair plan, adjusting workflow throughout the day as needed

· Maintain the productivity levels required to achieve cycle-time goals

· Ensure vehicles are fully disassembled for repair and promptly report any additional damage to the General Manager and estimators

· Keep repair-order information current in the management system so each vehicle’s status is accurately reflected

· Manage employee performance and provide coaching and training as needed

· Hold regular production meetings to review daily and monthly goals and repair-order status

· Keep all work areas—including body bays, paint, detailing, and parts—clean and orderly, and ensure compliance with all applicable safety, OSHA, and EPA guidelines

· Inspect completed repairs for quality before vehicles are delivered to customers

· Attend daily release meetings and provide production-status updates

· Perform all assigned duties safely and responsibly, without creating unnecessary risk of injury to yourself or others

· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

· Four to five years of auto body collision repair experience, including advanced knowledge of shop operations, repair processes, and procedures

· Demonstrated leadership experience in a high-performing collision repair or manufacturing environment

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments effectively

· Proficiency with computers and prior experience using estimating software

· Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to follow direction

· Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

· Stoop, bend, kneel, squat, push, and pull

· Remain in kneeling, bending, squatting, or stooping positions for extended periods

· Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds

· Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods

· Perform repetitive motions

Work Environment

This position may involve exposure to:

· Paint, fumes, and airborne particles

· Dirt and dust

· Chemicals and other potentially hazardous substances

· Varying temperatures

· Intermittent noise
