Registered Nurse (RN) - OR Circulator - Wed 1:30 - Close (approx. 7:00 pm).
We are looking for a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a part-time plastic surgery RN Circulator. The responsibilities of the Plastic surgery RN circulator include caring for patients in pre-op undergoing cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, circulating in the operating rooms and helping patients to feel comfortable and safe. Also, if desired this nurse may be cross trained and oriented to being competent to assist with patient care in the perioperative and post-operative areas when needed.

To be successful in this position, you should have knowledge of general surgery, cosmetic and reconstructive procedures and excellent bedside manners. Ultimately, this Circulator RN should be kind, empathetic, flexible, and a team player.
Plastic Surgery Nurse Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to manage surgical center workflow and ensure excellent patient care. This includes escorting patients to pre-op, addressing questions and concerns also helping with discharging patients to their car.
- Review patient health history, to give excellent and comprehensive time outs in the Operating Room.
- Patient pre-screening assessment calls, review medical history, medications and psychosocial status before surgery.
- Prepares the operating room before procedures and helps to keep the room stocked and ready for the next day.
- Monitors the patients before and after surgeries.
- Collaborates with surgeons and surgical assistants to ensure the patients understand the surgical procedures and policies.
- Participates in a RN Quality and Safety Committee and help gather data for this committee group.
- Helping manage surgical implants, garments, injectables, and medical supplies.
- Works with the team to ensure that all operating rooms are stocked appropriately.
- This position reports to the Director of Nursing.
Plastic Surgery Nurse Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Registered nursing (RN) license in Michigan.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as an RN Circulator.
- BLS/ACLS.
Surgical Days: Wednesday.
This position will work approximately 8-hour shifts depending on the surgical schedule. Candidate must be able to commit to working a minimum of one day per week on a regular basis.
