The Experienced CCTV & Access Control Installer / Low Voltage Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, and support of video surveillance and access control systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with project managers, clients, and internal teams.
The ideal candidate demonstrates leadership in the field, mentors junior technicians, and ensures all installations meet Platinum CCTV’s standards for performance, safety, and reliability.
- Install, configure, and maintain CCTV camera systems, access control systems, and related low-voltage infrastructure
- Conduct site surveys and client walk-throughs to assess system requirements and ensure project alignment
- Run, terminate, and label low-voltage cabling for cameras, access control hardware, and network devices
- Program access control door systems and provide client training on system operation
- Integrate video surveillance and access control systems to meet client security objectives
- Configure cameras, NVRs, networking equipment, and associated hardware
- Troubleshoot technical issues during installation and post-installation service
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope
- Mentor and support entry-level technicians to promote skill development and quality workmanship
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, installations, and service work
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices
- Stay current with emerging security technologies and industry standards
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience installing and supporting CCTV and access control systems
- Demonstrated experience programming access control door systems
- Strong understanding of low-voltage wiring standards and best practices
- Proficiency in IP networking concepts, including IP addressing and device configuration
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and customer-facing skills
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments and lift equipment as required
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a criminal background check
