Position Summary
The Lead BAS Controls Installation Technician is a field-based role, with regular travel to job sites. They are responsible for leading the installation of Building Automation Systems (BAS) on mid to large-scale projects concurrently. The lead oversees field teams, ensures quality and safety standards are met, and coordinates closely with the Project Manager to deliver projects on time and within scope. Most of the job sites are in the Charlotte metro area and there are almost never overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee installation across multiple projects simultaneously
· Monitor project progress and proactively address delays, conflicts, or field issues
· Coordinate with Project Manager to align manpower, schedules, and material delivery
· Lead, train, and mentor installation technicians to improve productivity and workmanship
· Ensure all installations meet project specifications, drawings, and industry standards
· Read and interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, and mechanical plans to execute installations accurately
· Participate in job-site coordination meetings
· Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies on all job sites
· Perform and support BAS system installation, including controllers, sensors, actuators, and wiring
· Maintain high-quality installation standards, including proper cable routing and labeling
Required Qualifications
· 3 years of experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS) installation
· Strong understanding of BAS basics and controls systems
· Hands-on experience with BACnet systems
· Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, control prints, and mechanical drawings
· Proven experience leading installation teams on commercial or industrial projects
· Strong wiring skills, including relay logic, series/parallel circuits, and DDC controllers
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites
Preferred Qualifications
· Working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems
· OSHA 30 certification
*Pay commensurate with experience and skills
Pay: $29.00 - $38.00 per hour
