Mechanical Engineer – Prototype Development Location: Memphis, TN

Role Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our product development team, focused on designing, developing, and testing innovative mechanical systems for next-generation commercial equipment. This is a hands-on engineering role for a creative problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement solutions for new equipment development and innovation projects, including both new product development and enhancement of existing systems
- Manage project timelines and deliverables, including maintaining clear Project Brief documentation
- Administer regulatory compliance with relevant agencies including NSF, CSA, UL, BOCA, ASSE, UPC, and Federal, State, and Local authorities
- Support field teams with regulatory and compliance issues, including liaising with local inspectors to minimise operational disruption for end customers
- Provide technical support to sales teams, contractors, consultants, engineers, and architects
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for design control and field use, including instruction manuals
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- 3 years of mechanical design experience; experience working with regulatory agencies is advantageous
- Background in the commercial appliance or related industry preferred but not essential
- Proficiency in mechanical design disciplines including sheet metal fabrication, plastic component design, and electrical/electronic circuit design
- Knowledge of commercial water heaters, heat pumps, and electrical circuit troubleshooting
- Experience with 3D CAD modelling; Autodesk Inventor preferred
- Strong technical writing skills with experience producing instruction manuals and design documentation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prior project management experience with a track record of meeting goals and deadlines
