High-Speed Lab Manager
Location: Mountain View, CA (Onsite)
Salary: $120,000–$475,000

My client, an innovative AI hardware company, is looking for a High-Speed Lab Manager to oversee its advanced electrical and optical testing laboratory. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with strong electronics lab experience who enjoys combining technical troubleshooting, hardware support, and lab operations in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of a high-speed electronics test lab
- Perform precision soldering, PCB rework, and board-level fault analysis
- Maintain and support advanced test equipment, including oscilloscopes, VNAs, and BERTs
- Provide remote and on-site technical support for engineering teams
- Manage calibration schedules, equipment servicing, and asset tracking
- Oversee procurement, inventory, and laboratory consumables
- Ensure the lab remains organised, safe, and operating efficiently
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent experience in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 5 years' experience in an electronics test or hardware prototyping lab
- Expert-level soldering and SMT rework skills, including BGA rework
- Experience with high-speed electronic test equipment and instrumentation
- Knowledge of calibration management, procurement, and inventory systems
- Understanding of ESD, OSHA, and laboratory safety standards
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
