Position OverviewWe are looking for a friendly, reliable Deli Clerk to join our small team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, takes pride in food preparation, and helps create a clean, welcoming environment for customers. Previous food service experience is a plus, but we are willing to train motivated candidates.
Responsibilities
- Prepare deli foods, sandwiches, salads, and other menu items according to company standards
- Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with orders and product questions
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and accurately process cash, credit, and other payments
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and display cases
- Restock products and monitor inventory levels as needed
- Follow food safety and handling procedures at all times
- Assist with opening, closing, and daily cleaning duties
- Work collaboratively with team members in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Food preparation and food handling experience preferred
- Food service experience is a plus
- Basic cash handling experience
- Basic math skills for transactions and order accuracy
- Ability to operate or learn POS systems
- Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a small team
- Flexible schedule, including availability for weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
