Position Summary
Plateau Excavation is seeking a Senior Estimator to support preconstruction and estimating efforts for heavy civil and sitework projects. This role will play a critical part in evaluating opportunities, developing competitive estimates, and supporting successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for sitework and infrastructure projects
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing analysis
- Coordinate subcontractor and vendor pricing
- Develop budgets, proposals, and bid packages
- Analyze project risks, logistics, and construction sequencing
- Collaborate with operations and project management teams during handoff
- Support value engineering and preconstruction planning efforts
- Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information
- Participate in client meetings and bid reviews as needed
Qualifications
- 5 years of estimating experience in heavy civil or sitework construction
- Strong understanding of excavation, grading, utilities, and infrastructure work
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Experience with estimating software and takeoff tools
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
