What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Manager-Retail position at PLASTPRO 2000 INC?
The Retail Sales Manager will manage the retail sales efforts to ensure established goals and objectives are accomplished by supervising, training and developing sales team (including both account managers and customer service team). The Retail Sales Manager is a player-coach who will expand business by enhancing strategic relationships with current retail partners and engaging in new relationships with large merchandizers, and lead the sales team to provide coaching and accountability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Create and execute sales strategies to ensure the Company’s products are properly positioned in the marketplace.
- Responsible for driving retail sales and developing new retail relationships.
- Recruit and hire sales account managers. Implement onboarding for new team members.
- Identity individual and team training needs and coach to improve performance and ensure alignment with overall sales objectives.
- Travel to maintain relationships with key customer contacts, explain technical issues, and develop new customer relationships.
- Attend conferences and trade shows to collect information on sales trends and new opportunities in the national marketplace.
- Manage sales activities to ensure planned volume mix, price, market share and sales targets are achieved.
- Oversee preparation of product pricing and special quotations to maximize sales and profitability.
- Propose and manage rebate programs.
- Provide market analysis information and sales forecasts and coordinates with production scheduling to ensure product availability by providing regular sales forecast updates.
- Monitor the progress of sales and implement solutions in problem areas.
- Submit sales plans and assess progress toward achieving planned sales levels.
- Initiate changes and modifications in operational processes and procedures to increase sales.
- Perform other job-related duties as directed by senior management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This manager leads the sales team to provide coaching and accountability.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing, or related field and five (5) years of sales management experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Possess intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales reports and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups (executives, employees, customers, and agents).
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to assist sales team with problem solving to maintain customer satisfaction and achieve sales goals. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
