The General Accountant is a critical role on the PTI Global Finance Team, reporting to the Corporate Controller of the PTI Group of Companies. This position is responsible for managing accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P) activities for PTI’s multiple legal entities, acting as the PTI finance team’s main point of contact with internal partners and external parties, such as customers and vendors. In addition, this individual will handle bookkeeping, assist in preparing financial reports and tax filings, support audits, and perform other activities as assigned. The successful candidate will be a highly skilled, proactive, detail-oriented professional, possessing a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. The individual will exhibit high integrity, intellectual curiosity, problem-solving ability, and will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Manage accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P) processes for assigned entities, acting as main point of contact with internal partners and external parties such as customers and vendors
- Proactively manage collection of accounts receivable, including timely follow-up on overdue invoices and escalation as deemed appropriate
- Maintain accounting records for assigned entities using NetSuite, ensuring that all financial records are complete and accurate, identifying and resolving discrepancies in the accounting records as needed
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports
- Support other members of the finance team in compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data, preparing tax filings, and compiling audit documentation
- Identify and drive cost reduction opportunities for assigned entities
- Ensure employee compliance with time reporting requirements
- Provide back-up and support to the PTI HR Administrator for payroll activities
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge, staying current on company, local, state, and federal financial regulations, and policies
- Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned
Job Specifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Normally Required Abilities for Competent Job Performance:
- Education Requirements:
- BA or BS degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
- CMA preferred
- Years of Relevant Experience
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
