What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement and Sourcing Buyer position at Plastic Products Co.?
We are seeking qualified individuals for the position of Procurement and Sourcing Buyer to join our corporate team in Lindstrom, MN.
Responsibilities:
- Execute release blanket orders for planner release as needed
- Purchase of raw materials and component parts
- Develop and maintain reliable sources to assure continuous availability of acceptable materials
- Develop component cost estimates from blueprints or samples
- Negotiates the return of non-conforming materials to suppliers
- Assist Estimating as required in costing non-standard materials
- Sell and/or dispose of scrap, salvage and obsolete items
- Maintain standard costs so price variance does not exceed the guidelines.
- Understand the company quality policy and general safety rules
- Be familiar with company capabilities, services and policies
- Search for new suppliers if needed
- Maintain all department files
- Process monthly reports
- Resolve receiving or system problems
- Expedite and follow-up on PO’s for documentation and other requirements
- Knowledge of HTC (Harmonized Tariff Code) and classifications
- Maintain import and export retention of records
- Cooperatively manage trade compliance with Sourcing Manager
- Chart, record and collect data as required
- Support all regulatory compliance needs and requests
- Ensures companywide compliance with corporate and regulatory policies
- Maintains and monitors the retention of records and documentation for all regulatory compliance policies
- Other duties as required

Experience:
- Use of IQMS or similar ERP system
- Bachelor's of Science in Business or a related field is preferred
- Navigation of procurement documentation, manufacturing data, and the ability to read part prints
- 5 years of previous experience in a manufacturing environment, including CAD, print knowledge for component parts, resin, colorant, packaging and logistics
- 5 years of previous experience as a Buyer is preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age

Salary : $72,000 - $85,000
